Last Friday, I was texted by the wife of my hubby’s eldest brother (all siblings are brothers), asking us to be at their place the next day. I texted back that the whole family has commitments for Saturday and the 2 of us for Sunday…and that we can be at their place Monday. She texted back, “bahala kayo!” which means “it’s up to you but you might just regret it!”
I figured then my MIL could be here! She stays in Canada. She’s 76 (or 78? Suddenly forgot). I texted back letting her know we can be there Saturday evening then we’ll leave early Sunday morning. She said they will wait. While hubby was still in the office, he chatted with me and said we’ll excuse ourselves from our commitments after Sabbath Service and the the next day so we can leave around 5pm and stay the whole day Sunday to honor his mother, which is one of the Ten Commandments (#5) in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5.
We left Quezon City at 5:30pm and arrived in San Pablo City at 8:30pm. Although 2 families have already left, the eldest of one of the families stayed. (The next day, the eldest of the other family arrived.) After greetings, we had a sumptuous dinner. I should have taken pics but my battery was low.
We had lots of stories brought back home. Many good ones, some bad ones. MIL had something for us too! Chocolates, coffee, lipstick, blush on, toothpaste, shirts, and some cash (which was just right on time for something we need). Today, she’s going to the province (Leyte) and will stay there 2 months. It will be her birthday on June 29 but will celebrate on July 2 so we can all be there. Definitely, we can only come Saturday night. We cannot miss our Sabbath assembly. God first before man.
