A Walk To Remember

by Cecile Cinco

walking @ Under My Fingertips

It has been so long ago when I walked for the sake of having an exercise. The longest I did, together with my eldest who was 16 then, was last year. We had a total of 19km roughly, based on the measuring tool of wikimapia. A few months ago I walked on my own for just 5km. It was great, I know, and I have to do it more often.

The Knowledge Genies

by Cecile Cinco

Now, more than ever, do the Knowledge Genies exist. Let me explain a bit. I’m sure you’ll understand well in a flash.

Black Keyboard

by Cecile Cinco

It used to be that keyboards were only colored dirty white. As time flies it becomes yellowish. Since black keyboard already exists, we always buy it black. Not only can I recycle it beautifully with some class, it also takes a lot more time before it looks ugly. You can also see the dust more clearly.

MIL Arrived, Instant Reunion

by Cecile Cinco

Last Friday, I was texted by the wife of my hubby’s eldest brother (all siblings are brothers), asking us to be at their place the next day. I texted back that the whole family has commitments for Saturday and the 2 of us for Sunday…and that we can be at their place Monday. She texted back, “bahala kayo!” which means “it’s up to you but you might just regret it!”

I figured then my MIL could be here! She stays in Canada. She’s 76 (or 78? Suddenly forgot). I texted back letting her know we can be there Saturday evening then we’ll leave early Sunday morning. She said they will wait. While hubby was still in the office, he chatted with me and said we’ll excuse ourselves from our commitments after Sabbath Service and the the next day so we can leave around 5pm and stay the whole day Sunday to honor his mother, which is one of the Ten Commandments (#5) in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5.

We left Quezon City at 5:30pm and arrived in San Pablo City at 8:30pm. Although 2 families have already left, the eldest of one of the families stayed. (The next day, the eldest of the other family arrived.) After greetings, we had a sumptuous dinner. I should have taken pics but my battery was low.

We had lots of stories brought back home. Many good ones, some bad ones. MIL had something for us too! Chocolates, coffee, lipstick, blush on, toothpaste, shirts, and some cash (which was just right on time for something we need). Today, she’s going to the province (Leyte) and will stay there 2 months. It will be her birthday on June 29 but will celebrate on July 2 so we can all be there. Definitely, we can only come Saturday night. We cannot miss our Sabbath assembly. God first before man.

This is my entry to Family Time. You can check other entries or join yourself. :)

The Blogger Behind…

by Cecile Cinco

Hello and welcome again, especially to the newcomers! :)

The Name.

My name’s Cecile Abigail. That’s what my mom named me. The first is after my Dad, Cecilio, who died before I was born, and the 2nd after David’s wife (Bible character). I’ve had several nicknames over the years. Cecile, when I was a kid, at home and with Church friends and my earlier years in school; Ab in high school and technical school; Kajee or Kaj when I was working (though my first boss, Dick Gordon, always called me Abigail). When I got married, I got known for being C5 as my last name means five in Spanish. (He’s W5, my 3 girls are w5–that’s a lowercase w, MR5 and EG5.). Since many of my online applications would have 3 characters as minimum for username, I use ceefive.

Food Trip: Hot Healthy Boiled Eggs And Tuna

by Cecile Cinco

Since I started walking the healthy foods route, it seemed that my food tastes have changed. Rather, I have discovered that there are tastes that I liked that I wished I have eaten such long time ago. One of these is this combination of boiled eggs and tuna.

Just Beautiful: Red And Green Hot Chili Peppers

by Cecile Cinco

Last week I bought chili peppers. Lots of them. I had them stored in 4 bottles because I’m giving them away as gifts to friends who loved hot chili peppers too. I bought 6 packs and when I put them all together in one container, I smiled. Isn’t that just beautiful? :) It is, for me. :) And healthy too! :D

Warning: Facebook Email Danger

by Cecile Cinco

A couple of weeks ago, I saw one of my FB friends who had posted that he now works with Facebook and he got his own FB email @facebook.com. I clicked the like button in congratulating him. A few minutes ago, I saw another FB friend, who’s not techie, posted her own email with the @facebook.com domain. This time there is a link to supposedly get my own. I did click.
